Diabetes services at the Waitemata DHB have received a boost through donations from The Lions Club of Hillcrest and the Rotary Club of Takapuna North.

Through Bingo evenings, garage sales, a Tea Dance and the sale of Lions mints and Christmas Cakes, members of The Lions Club of Hillcrest raised a whopping $5000 towards this cause.

The Rotary Club of Takapuna North have also generously donated $2500 which they raised through their various fundraising initiatives.

These donations, presented to the Well Foundation, the official charity supporting North Shore and Waitakere hospitals, will go towards funding the cost of diabetes sensors for young adults newly diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, which can cost around $500.

We are so grateful to The Lions Club of Hillcrest and the Rotary Club of Takapuna and all our supporters for your continued efforts to fundraise for the Well Foundation to advance healthcare in our Waitemata community.
