Show your support through art
As we all get used to terms such as lockdown, social distancing, self-isolation and quarantine, there are a team of workers putting themselves on the front line every day in the fight against COVID-19. These are our healthcare workers, not only the nurses and doctors in PPE we see on the news each day, but also those behind the scenes, the cleaners and auxiliary workers that continue to spend their working hours outside of their bubbles, away from their families.
We want each and every staff member at Waitematā DHB to know how valued and supported they are by their community. That’s why we have joined forces with The Upstairs Gallery in Titirangi, to create an art initiative aimed at brightening the days of our 7,500+ staff.
The exhibition, titled ‘We Send You Our Art’, launched on Friday 10th April asking our community (young and old, professional and amateur!) to help support our staff by sending in their creations to firstname.lastname@example.org. Not limited just to painting or drawing but singing, crafting, sewing, sculpting – anything that gets those creative juices flowing!
Submissions are sent to The Upstairs Gallery for curating and then forwarded onto our Waitematā DHB staff to enjoy. Some pieces will be displayed in our local hospitals as a permanent Thank You to all the staff on the frontline during this crisis.
