Our guests enjoyed a Virtual Reality tour of the new space, watched a video walk through and heard what this project means for the DHB, Breast Service staff and patients. We were delighted to hear from Judy McGregor, Chair of Waitematā DHB, Breast Surgeon Dr Susan Gerred and the lovely Niki Case whose own story of her Breast Cancer journey is shared on this website.
We were also thrilled to welcome the team from Breast Cancer Foundation NZ to the hospital as our Principal Funding Partner on this project, the Vice Chair of their Board Joanne McCrae discussed the world leading Nottingham model of care that will be introduced as part of the new service.
Work is expected to be completed at the end of the year with the new service starting to welcome patients in early 2021.
We are delighted to have got to this stage but we still need your support is reaching the fundraising target of $2m. If you can help or would like to discuss donation or sponsorship opportunities please contact Anna Rennie on 021 0231 2284 or anna@wellfoundation.org.nz
