Well Foundation is saying farewell to CEO Tim Edmonds as he moves to take up a new role as the Chief Executive of the Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand (LBC).

Under his guidance, the Foundation has extended its legacy of improved care for people in the Waitematā region with more than $10m of support raised for health projects that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise. Tim’s tenure is marked by several highlights, including;

• completing fundraising campaigns for Waitākere Hospital’s expansion of the Special Care Baby Unit, and the Waitematā Breast Service at North Shore Hospital
• helping to champion the new Primary Birthing Unit for West Auckland by exploring funding options
• developing the philanthropic partnership that helped provide public hospital patients with access to the Da Vinci surgical robot for the first time in NZ 
• the development of new community based initiatives such as the STEPS-A youth mental health programme for intermediate schools and an innovative pilot to improve oral health outcomes for children, and
• improving patient and visitor spaces within our region’s new medical and surgical hospital facility opening in April.    

We’ll miss his big heart, good humour and most important his commitment to improving healthcare experiences and outcomes for the benefit of our community.
