With the nationwide move to Covid-19 Alert Level 4 on 18 August the SCBU site at Waitākere Hospital was shut down as per government guidelines, to ensure the health and safety of the contractors on site and the wider hospital community.

However, the SCBU project was subsequently granted an exemption as an essential build and our main contractor, Argon, were able to restart works under Alert Levels 4 and 3. With a Covid work plan endorsed by DHB Health & Safety and the Executive Leadership Team, Argon was able to recommence work on site on Monday 6 September, with 10-12 people on site.

We are still ascertaining the potential impact on the build programme from the temporary site shut down and reduced number of people on site and will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
